Services

Scope of support

Welding supervision

IWE supervision in line with the requirements of ISO standards. Control of welding processes at every stage of production.

Preparation for certification

Support in obtaining EN ISO 3834, EN 1090, EN 15085. Compiling documentation and procedures.

Internal audits

Reviews of welding processes and documentation. Identifying nonconformities and recommending corrective actions.

Technology consulting

Optimisation of welding and automation processes. Selecting laser technology and cobots for production.

Detailed scope of services

  • Developing welding procedures (WPS to PN-EN ISO 15609)
  • Preparing WPQR documentation (to PN-EN ISO 15614)
  • Supervision of production processes
  • Support in deploying automated cells
  • Consulting: laser welding, cobot systems
  • Training of welding personnel

Team qualifications

A specialist holding the IWE (International Welding Engineer) certificate represents the highest level of competence in welding processes. We have experience in supervising production in accordance with EN ISO 3834, EN 1090 and EN 15085.

The level of supervision is matched to the products and the requirements of the standards:

  • IWE / EWE (engineer) - the highest level of welding supervision, full scope of technical responsibility
  • IWT / EWT (technologist) - intermediate level of competence, a wide range of technological tasks
  • IWS / EWS (specialist) - foreman/specialist level, supervision over a narrower range of products

Why a company needs supervision

  • EN ISO 3834-2 and -3 require supervisory personnel to ISO 14731 (level 3834-4 does not)
  • EN 1090 and EN 15085 are based on EN ISO 3834, so they also require supervision
  • Without supervision it is hard to maintain certification and meet tender requirements
  • Outsourced supervision is a solution for companies without their own welding engineer

No welding engineer of your own? We take over supervision externally, so you can maintain certification and fulfil orders without employing a full-time specialist.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does IWE differ from IWT and IWS?
These are three levels of welding supervision competence under the IIW/EWF system. IWE (engineer) is the highest and has the widest scope of responsibility, IWT (technologist) is intermediate, and IWS (specialist/foreman) is the lowest of the three. The level of supervision is matched to the products and the requirements of the standards.
When does a company need welding supervision?
When it implements EN ISO 3834 at level 2 or 3 (these require supervisory personnel to ISO 14731), and for EN 1090 and EN 15085. Level EN ISO 3834-4 does not require formal supervision.
Can supervision be outsourced?
Yes. For companies that do not have their own welding engineer, outsourced IWE supervision makes it possible to meet the requirements of the standards without employing a full-time specialist. We agree the scope individually.
What does consulting on implementing the standards include?
An initial audit, developing welding procedures (WPS), WPQR documentation, inspection plans, personnel preparation and support during the certification audit for EN ISO 3834, EN 1090 and EN 15085.
Where can you obtain IWE qualifications in Poland?
IWE/IWT/IWS diplomas are issued by an authorised body (in Poland, Łukasiewicz - Upper Silesian Institute of Technology, formerly the Institute of Welding in Gliwice). Some universities of technology also run the theoretical part, while the exam and practical training take place at the authorised body.
Do you also help with welding automation?
Yes. We advise on selecting laser technology and cobot cells, and on incorporating these processes into the welding quality system (WPS/WPQR, repeatability validation).
