WELDERSTAL
WS-5

The WELDERSTAL WS-5 is a ready-to-work cobot built on the bare Fairino FR5 cobot arm (5 kg payload, 922 mm reach, ±0.02 mm repeatability, 6 axes). A versatile base for light production tasks: welding, placing and handling parts. The WS model adds the tool, equipment, Welderstal plugins, configuration, commissioning, training and support.

The WELDERSTAL WS-5 is a ready-to-work cobot built on the bare Fairino FR5 cobot arm. The FR5 arm on its own is a technical base with 5 kg payload, 922 mm reach, ±0.02 mm repeatability and 6 axes. It is a versatile base for light production tasks.

The bare FR5 arm vs the WS-5 cobot

The WS model adds to the arm: the working tool (torch, gripper or holder), cell equipment, Welderstal plugins, process configuration, safety assessment, commissioning, operator training and support after start-up.

Selection and deployment

We select the model after analysing the process - the part, tool, fixturing, cycle time and space at the cell. Start with a process description. See also ready-made cobot kits, all WS cobots, welding cobots and the WS-3 and WS-10 models.

What we select the WELDERSTAL WS-5 for

The most common tasks this cobot handles well. We confirm the final scope after a process analysis.

01

MIG/MAG and TIG welding

Repeatable torch guidance on parts with stable geometry. The 922 mm reach covers a typical welding cell at a table or fixture.

02

Placing and handling parts

Light pick-and-place operations between stations and placing parts into packaging once the gripper is matched to the product.

03

Light production tasks

Simple, repeatable auxiliary operations where a steady pace and repeatable motion matter more than manual work.

The WELDERSTAL WS-5 with Welderstal plugins

Plugins are the difference between a bare arm and a ready-made cell. The operator works with prepared points and parameters, and a changeover does not start with programming from scratch.

Choose accessories for the WELDERSTAL WS-5

We match equipment to the process: welding torch holders and torches, grippers, suction cups, fixtures, tables and positioners. Accessories are selected together with the model, not separately.

Kits the WELDERSTAL WS-5 works in

A cobot is an arm with equipment, ready to work. A kit goes a step further: it adds a process tool, an external axis or line equipment and becomes a complete cell.

We assess safety for the whole cell

The Fairino FR arm is a collaborative robot - it has joint sensors and force limiting. Whether the cell can work without guarding, however, depends on assessing the whole: tool, part, speed, forces and surroundings. We carry out this assessment before commissioning.

Robotisation tax relief (Poland)

Part of the cobot cost can be deducted

For companies taxed in Poland, buying and deploying a cobot may qualify for the robotisation tax relief. See the rules and what the deduction covers.

Each WS cobot is built on a different Fairino FR arm - they differ in payload and reach.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does the WS-5 differ from the bare Fairino FR5 arm?
The FR5 is the cobot arm alone, with 5 kg payload and 922 mm reach. The WS-5 is a Welderstal cobot built on that base: the FR5 arm, tool, equipment, plugins, configuration, commissioning, training and support. You can find the FR cobot arms on the Fairino models page.
What tasks is the WS-5 suitable for?
The WS-5 is a versatile base for light tasks: MIG/MAG and TIG welding of repeatable parts, placing and handling components, and simple production operations. We select the specific scope after analysing the process and tool.
Is the WS-5 suitable for welding?
Yes, the FR5 is often chosen as the base of a welding cell. Its ±0.02 mm repeatability helps keep welds consistent on repeatable parts. The WS model adds the torch, equipment, welding plugin and operator training.
How do we select and deploy the WS-5?
We start with a description of the process, part and cell. We check whether the task suits a cobot, select the tool and equipment, configure the cell with plugins, commission it and train the operators, and after start-up we agree the scope of support.
